MERCEDEZ-BENZ FASHION WEEK BERLIN WILL TAKE PLACE JULY 17th – 20th, 2008 AT BEBELPLATZ, IN THE HEART OF THE GERMAN CAPITOL
When German top model Eva Padberg gracefully floated along the catwalk in a striking feather emblazoned robe by Zac Posen in Berlin’s Postbahnhof, the second Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin ended, capping off a week that included shows by HUGO, Strenesse Blue, MICHALSKY, JOOP! menswear and many others. Thousands of guests gathered to marvel at the latest collections from eighteen German and International Designers.
Dr. Kristina Hammer, Director Global Marketing Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars: “Starting with the world premiere of the brand new CLC Sport Coupé and ending with the show of Hollywood star designer Zac Posen, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin was a huge success – a success that we want to build on in July.”
After positive feedback from the industry and honoring requests to frame the schedule in fewer days, IMG Fashion is pleased to announce that the upcoming Spring/Summer 2009 Collections for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will take place July 17th – 20th, 2008, at Bebelplatz Berlin. The new schedule, simultaneous with the tradeshow PREMIUM, offers a top-class program of tradeshow and runway shows, which will again strengthen the important role of Berlin as a fashion centre

Its that time of the year again to get ready for an onslaught of Spring-Summer 0809 Collections as Rosemount Australia Fashion Week kicked off yesterday in Sydney with shows going on from Monday April 28th to Friday May 2nd.
Insidethetents in collaboration with Fashion Wire Press will be bringing you exclusive coverage for some of our selective shows as they happen, with pictures from the major catwalks so that you donot miss the hottest fashion of this coming season from down under.
I took the time to cover 4 shows today as i was also trying to catch up with my friend from New Zealand, Our first collection for the day was the Nicola Finetti SS 0809 Collection (11am) a very subtle and wearbale collection with a chic side to it, Next we covered the Hotel Bondi Swimwear collection (3pm) which i thought was quite boring compared to some other collections i have seen this season, there was really nothing special and it was too safe, at 4pm we were at Anna Thomas the highlight of the day, amongst in the crowd Danni Minogue and Miranda Kerr and i thought i pieces were brilliantly put together with some cool shade of blue and grey what really caught my eye was the use of sheer trend.
I decided to close Day 1 with the Wayne Cooper SS 0809 Collection, another great collection

Day 2 at New York fashion Week kicked off with the famous French Sportswear house Lacoste, the setting was in the main tent at Bryant Park, models walked off on a runway of Fur (am sure PETA would scowl at this) the collection was very neat and colorful, with models walking off in groups at time, a little bit of a nightmare for photographers, the backdrop was a setting of falling snow. The collection itself seems to revive Lacoste back into the sportswear brand. Liked it alot

Mercedes Benz fashion week kicked off instyle on Friday Feb 1st
We review the following collections from Day One
Nautica
The Nautica collection was nothing new but expected, this struggling sportswear brand has been trying to get it self backon the map, after Nautica we sprung to the main tent for the Hearts Truth Red Collection, it was a celebrity event and oh my Heidi Klum looked absolutely gorgeous on the runway in a red marc jacobs dress.
Skipped off to west 21st street for the Yigal Azrouel show which was very chic and that was when you know New York fashion week had officially kicked off, yes offsite shows, here i ran into Ken Downing from Neiman Marcus and Hamish Bowles from British Vogue, the Yigal Azrouel collection was very clean and i thought the hair looked very modern with a goth look to it.
On the way back to Bryant Park ran into the ever beautiful Elle Style Editor Kate Lanphear, boarded the bus and was chatting away with the great Marcio Madeira (if you don’t know him look up all the photo’s on style.com), talked mostly about photography, photo thieves and his company firstview,
At Bryant Park reviewed Erin Fetherston and her collection was very clean and hip in Erin Fetherston’s on way, the leggings looked very chic on the models especially on Chanel Iman.

As some of fashion elites near their times to retire with Valentino already showcasing his last collection at Paris Haute Couture and retiring after that, is it time we see Karl Lagerfeld and Giorgio Armani follow in his footsteps? If that is to happen who is to take over in these fashion houses ?
My nominees are
Michael Kors for Valentino
Helmut Lang for Chanel
Alexander McQueen for Armani
